  1. Relation between knowledge level, attitude and practice regarding micronutrients in postpartum women attended in the “Miguel Grau” Maternal Child Center, Lima

This article analyzes the relationship between knowledge, attitude and practice on micronutrients in puerperal women attended at the “Miguel Grau” Maternal and Child Center in Lima. Its approach is quantitative, of correlational design, not experimental, of retrospective cross-sectional and descriptive type. The sample (120 postpartum women) was selected by means of an intentional non-probability sampling, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, the level of knowledge of the puerperal women about the consumption of micronutrients was “regular” with 81.7%. The postpartum attitude towards their consumption of micronutrients was “favorable,” with 87.5%, - data corroborated in similar research. The practice of the puerperal women with regard to the consumption of micronutrients was “inadequate” in the entire sample, finding greater deficiency in the daily consumption of dairy foods. On the other hand, there is a statistically significant relationship between the knowledge and the attitude of the puerperal women about the consumption of micronutrients, via the Spearman's Rho of 0.001 (p <0.05). However, no statistically significant relationship was found between knowledge and practice, nor between the attitude and practice of postpartum women regarding the consumption of micronutrients, according to a Rho analysis by Spearman of 0.173 and 0.656 (p <0.05) respectively, which could be related to insufficient information, marital status, as well as the beliefs and myths that the puerperal women possesses.

  2. Spiritual well-being and quality of care of nursing professionals in two hospitals in Lima Metropolitan City

This study determines the relationship between the level of spiritual well-being and the quality of care of nursing professionals in two hospitals in Lima Metropolitan City. A quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional approach is used. The sample selection was made up of 60 nursing professionals and 180 patients. The instruments used for data collection were: the “Scale of spiritual well-being” Questionnaire (Ellison and Paulotzian, 1994) and the Questionnaire of “Scale of quality of care” (MINSA and the College of Nurses of Peru, 2008). The results found indicated that 53.3% of the nursing staff presented a medium level of spiritual well-being and only 5.0% a high level; Likewise, 56.7% present a low level of quality of care and only 8.3% a high level. Furthermore, it was found that there is a relationship between the spiritual well-being and the quality of care of nursing professionals with a coefficient of 0.540 and a p-value of 0.000 through the Kendall Tau b test. In conclusion, there is a relationship between both study variables.

  3. Financing and business development in the MYPES resident in the industrial park of Huaycán

This research analyzes the relationship between financing and business development of the MYPES (Micro and Small Businesses) residing in the industrial zone of Huaycán, a city located in the Ate-Vitarte district, Lima. The study is descriptive correlational type with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 60 MYPES in the mentioned place. In order to measure internal financing, a questionnaire prepared by Márquez (2007) was used. To measure external financing, a questionnaire created by Cornejo and Galicia (2010) was used; The business development questionnaire was prepared by García (2003). Its reliability was verified by Cronbach's alpha, which obtained 0.95 for financing and 0.840 for business development. The Spearman's Rho results ρ = 0.329, p = 0.036 allow us to conclude that financing has a significant direct relationship on business development. Therefore, the more financing the MYPES will have, the more business development will allow them to perform optimally in their activities that involve a large part of the population, allowing them to have a business and employment opportunity, thus improving the economy of their families, in order to promote poverty reduction in the country.

  5. Effectiveness of the consumption of guava leaf on glucose levels in rats with diabetes type 2

This research work aims to evaluate the evaluation of guava leaf powder on blood glucose levels in rats (Sprague-Dawley) induced by diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2) with the drug streptozotocin (STZ). This research has a quantitative approach, experimental design, explanatory and longitudinal cut. The sample consisted of 40 male rats of the Sprague-Dawley strain of 5 weeks, distributed in 3 treatment groups: non-diabetic control group, experimental group 2 and experimental group 3 respectively. For the induction process of diabetes type 2, the rats received an amount of 10% fructose for two weeks, then the drug streptozotocin (STZ) was administered intraperitoneally (50mg / kg). The experimental groups were fed by an orogastric tube, with a dose of 500mg / Kg and 1000mg / Kg of guava leaf powder, for the experimental groups comprising group 2 and group 3, respectively, for a period of 3 weeks . At the end of the treatment, the experimental groups showed a significant decrease in glycemia and a decrease in body weight. This study concludes that the dose of 1000mg / Kg of the guava leaf powder shows a greater decrease in glycemia, after consumption.
