Abstract

Obedience to the commandments and fulfillment of mission in the Christian life: a biblical-theological analysis. This article examines in detail the place of obedience to God's commandments in Christian life, from a theological and biblical perspective. The investigation begins with a systematic review of the Bible, the theological writings on the subject of obedience as a condition for preserving life, since the creation of man. Then, after the entrance of disobedience into the perfect world, it shows God's permanent call to obedience as an expression of love, conscious and voluntary both in the Old and New Testaments and in the writings of Ellen G. White. Likewise, it reiterates some biblical characters that exemplify obedience to God's commands such as: Abraham, David, Jesus, the apostles and others who lived emphasizing obedience as an integral part of faith. Thus, it can be concluded that obedience is the only spiritual discipline that gives access to life and to the restored Eden. Also, a life of obedience to the will of God will be a strong light before men to fulfill the mission (Mt. 5:16).
