Abstract

Servant leadership: a biblical-theological analysis. Servant Leadership: A Biblical Theological Analysis, presents the analysis of the origin of the Servant Leadership model by Robert K. Greenleaf, who used the book The Journey to the East by Hermann Hesse to give rise to this model, which is not related with the Bible. This article analyzes the philosophy that surrounds the book The Journey to the East and the biblical foundations that were adapted to support it through the contextual and semantic analysis of the words used in the biblical texts, which, in many cases, have been used outside the context. Without diminishing the importance of Servant Leadership, this article has concluded that the service is a fundamental part of leadership, but this model does not have its biblical origin.
